On 2 February 2026, the fourth edition of the Golden Croissant took place at Ranson Brussels, a prestigious quality evaluation dedicated to the artisanal croissant. Organised by Les Ambassadeurs du Pain, the event brought together no fewer than 104 participants from across Belgium – from the coast to the East Cantons – confirming its national reputation within the bakery sector.

The focus was on quality and craftsmanship. An expert international jury assessed the entries based on taste, texture, appearance and technical execution. Through this competition, not only is talent put in the spotlight, but the importance of the croissant as a high-quality product within Belgian artisan baking is also highlighted.

Golden Croissant 2026 was more than just a competition. The event served as an inspiring meeting place for bakers, professionals and partners who share a passion for the craft. Throughout the day, a continuous demonstration showcased creative ways to elevate and refine croissants, presenting innovative applications and finishing techniques.

At 4:30 pm, the winners were announced in a celebratory moment recognising the dedication and craftsmanship of the participants.

In addition, 2 February marked the official launch of the Week of the Croissant, an initiative organised in collaboration with Bakkers Vlaanderen, giving extra visibility to the croissant as a quality product among both professionals and the wider public.
