Belgium prepares for the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie 2027

Following an intensive national selection, the new Belgian pastry team, the Pastry Lions, has been formed. In January 2026, this team will compete in the European qualifiers of the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie in Paris, with the ultimate goal of reaching the world final in Lyon in 2027.

The selection process was led by a jury of former medal winners. Three talented pastry chefs were selected:

  • Nelson Lechien – specialist in ice cream creations
  • Othmane Jaber – chocolate expert
  • Yoshiyuki Numasawa – master of sugar artistry

The team is coached by Marc Ducobu, a two-time medal winner and a respected name in the Belgian pastry industry.

The Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie, often referred to as the "World Cup for pastry chefs", is a prestigious international competition where teams from all over the world showcase breathtaking creations in sugar, chocolate and ice cream. Belgium, traditionally among the world's best, is determined to shine once again at the highest level with this team.

This initiative is made possible thanks to the support of a network of partners who are passionate about promoting Belgian pastry craftsmanship. Ranson is proud to be part of this story as a supporting partner, contributing to this journey of expertise, passion and international ambition.
