From Robuchon to Harrods: A Tasty Day in London with Ranson Inspirations

On 30 November at 4 a.m. Belgian time, the alarm went off, not to bake delicious fresh viennoiserie, but to get ready to catch the Eurostar. After several trend tours in Paris, we took 12 customers to London for the first time. It is a vibrant city where trends emerge and converge, and where many renowned chefs like to set foot.

We started at Le Deli Robuchon, founded by legendary chef Joël Robuchon. Next, we stopped at a Swedish concept with sourdough and the winner of the Best Croissant in the UK in 2023. Our attention was also drawn to a micro-patisserie hidden behind a purple façade. The trend tour ended at Harrods, one of the most iconic shopping centres in the world.

In the afternoon, we enjoyed the ‘obligatory’ afternoon tea at The Berkeley Cafe. Here, Goûtea is served, which is Cédric Grolets' interpretation of the best of British afternoon tea and goûter. The day ended with the familiar words ‘Mind the gap’ as we hurried to catch the Eurostar back to Belgium. On the train, we read several satisfying responses with inspiring photos in the WhatsApp group.

We can therefore say that our first trend tour to London was a success and one that we will definitely repeat. If you would like to experience this too, keep an eye on our Ranson Inspirations calendar.
